Detox, do you really need it?

Detox involves short, aggressive diets that require individuals to have little or no food, and to consume liquids or juices as substitutes. This is an attempt to get rid of the " toxins in the body or as quick weight loss solution.

Side effects of detoxification

The low nutirition will result in :

  • Low energy and focus
  • Low blood sugar
  • Muscle aches
  • Dizziness/ nausea

Do you really need it? 

Maybe not...

- Detox weight loss rebounds very fast once you are off it and most of the weight loss is from water weight.

- The liver and kidneys are very efficient toxin filtering organs, with or without detox programs.

Why do people feel better during the detox program?

During this phase, people cut off their consumption of high fat, high sugar or highly processed foods off their plate. Shaving these types of foods off can actually help individuals feel better overall.

What you should do is to eat clean!

Adopt a healthy diet packed with whole foods that include vegetables, lean meat, fruits.

These are the foods that will give you the necessary nutrition to power you through your day!
