- WATER BOTTLES
These cheap and readily available workout equipment are great substitutes for dumbbells. Choose bottles that range from 250 ml to 1.5 litre capacities and fill them up with water or sand.
- Y O G A M A T
The mats cushion the body and joints from injuries when doing floor exercises. It provides a certain degree of firmness that helps to focus on targeted muscle groups at every angle of movement.
- RESISTANCE BANDS
These bands are versatile, cheap and portable. They come in a variety of resistance levels and can cater to all fitness levels. They are great alternatives to dumbbells and barbells.
- CHAIR
A chair can serve as a nifty piece of workout equipment. Besides using it for body weight exercises such as step up lunges and dips, it can also act as weights for bicep curls and front raises.
- STAIRS
Stair climbing is said to burn more calories than jogging or brisk walking. It strengthens the core muscles, improves balance and is a great aerobic exercise to boost endurance and cardiovascular health.
- TOWEL
Tugging a rolled up towel at both ends provides a great form of isometric resistance which can bring about strength improvements.
Couple this with concurrent lower body movements such as squats to enhance functional stability.
- BODY
Your body is the best gym equipment as almost every muscle group in it can be activated through a wide variety of body-weight exercises.
Include high-intensity interval training to burn fats or increase athletic performance through explosive plyometric workouts.
